sunshine304 gave me (after mocking my damn short interests-lists which I haven't updated in five years xD)
Animaniacs: Still the greatest cartoon on earth. I learned so much from it: astronomy, mathematics, biology, cinema-history and most important of all: pitch black sarcasm. XD Oh and the only thing that helps against bullies: talk to your teachers and parents (or squirrel-aunts) and if nothing helps: HIT THEM HARD WITH AN ANVIL!
JRock: Damn, I really haven't updated that list in a while. XD JRock was a really big thing for me back in 2008 - I loved the music, the over-the-top-costumes, the stylized stage shows... but my interest dwindled down in 2010 - not because I don't like JRock anymore but because my interest in bands and music in general kinda... vanished? I am not actively looking out for bands anymore and mostly randomly listening to songs.
I still adore the costumes, though. XD
Lord of the Rings: *lesigh* What to say about it? The book and the movie followed me through my whole youth and pretty much shaped what kind of movies I liked and disliked (and would watch for certain actors xD) I have to admit, it is a flawed film (but not the first one. That one is perfect.) and it's starting to look dated (Gollum xD) but it's still worth watching a bazillion times over. =D
Shonen-ai: "Boys-Love", the anime/manga-equivalent of slash - and yes, I'm still very much interested in the latter but not in the former xD. Shonen-ai anime/manga lost a lot of its appeal for me mostly due to plots being repetitive or creating only bland characters where the only focus is the luuuv between them (that's why I love CLAMP - they never made it that obvious). There are still some amazing pieces out there (No. 6 I hear, is great?) but I'm not actively looking for it anymore.
The Gazette: Look at JRock. Same thing with this band.
Visual Kei: Look at JRock, sorry XDDD Clothing style I liked but never really got behind it since the cuter styles like decora was more along my way ^__^

I am with you on shounen-ai. As a genre it's much to cutesy for my taste. But CLAMP is great. Perhaps because they never wrote an outright SA manga, so their stories had to focus on something other than twu wuv. XD

I thought that was how normal people felt about music? *g*
Re: This is a comment.
Now excuse me while I'm sinking to the floor in a sobbing mess (THE WHOLE THING WITH LAURENCE AND THE RAIDS AND THARKAY "What are you doing?" AND TEMERAIRE BEING COMPLETELY UNHAPPY AND LAURENCE BEING A STUPID STUPID STUPID IDIOT AND JANE BEING THE ONLY ONE INTELLIGENT ENOUGH TO THINK OF OTHER WAYS TO GO ABOUT THE TREASON and... oh God, I can't anymore, I'm so freaking sad on behalf of everybody but especially Laurence who lost his innocence forever (and not in the fun way!) and errbody being stupid and fearsome of the dragons and I AM SHAKING AND CRYING Q________Q)
On to the meme now:
kamelot, katzen, power metal, ewan mcgregor, gothic2, tokyo babylon
AND THANK YOU. MY TASTE IS AWESOME XD but you are the very first person to say that to me because of LotR XDDD *lesigh* Ah yes, the Orlando craze. It was... embarrassing to put it mildly but thank God it only lasted a year or so for me - when Éomer appeared for the first time the pointy-eared bastard never even showed up on my radar anymore
didn't keep me from keeping my Legolas-poster on my door for about seven years though.Re: This is a comment.
OMG, THIS, so much. Jane was the only person talking sense in that book! And then Laurence blames himself for everything, even the king's madness, and it's so heart-breaking. He just accepts that he has to do all these horrible things, until Tharkay knocks some sense into him. "no quarter" my arse! That was horrible! When they killed that French dragon by jumping onto her and her captain just sobbed. *sniff*
And then these idiots send the only dragon away who could ever hope of taking on Lien in a fair fight! These complete wallies!
*sigh* I have endless feels about this book as you can see. (and I've just started Crucible of Gold and it doesn't get better XD *FEELS*)
Oooh, intersting choices! :D
tbh, I was more firmly in the Viggo camp, Orlando just wasn't scruffy enough, but the craze was still mad. XD What a wonderful time! *still has her Aragorn posters somewhere* *g*
Re: This is a comment.
I WANT REVENGE! I WANT LIEN ROASTED OVER A FIRE, HUARJHFKJDHSD. Damn.
It appeared very telling that Tharkay was the only one able to get through to Laurence's bubble of DISASTER AND DOOM - even Granby failed to do that and all it needed for Tharkay where like... three words.
Imma shipping it which is not a good thing xDThat scene with the French dragon... I was screaming internally. Laurence, you cannot possibly do that, you can't, not after everything you gave up to save all those dragons. Q_Q Oh well. Thanks for Tharkay, anyway. He and Jane must have dents in their foreheads from facepalming and headdesking so much when dealing with our cute noble, idiotic hero. <333ANYWAY. THE FEELS. I must get my hands on Crubicle of Gold and then I'm almost ready for Blood of Tyrants and I JUST DON'T WANT IT TO END. Q_____Q
Re: This is a comment.
othing happens in Tongues of Serpents. It's the truth! >-< (except for that bit at the end). However, I just finished Crucible of Gold, and OMG, FEELS! Especially Granby-Feels, all the shit that happens to him in this book, and then there's Riley, and OMG, everything!!! Plus lot's of Granby/Iskierka, I love them, their relationship is so horrible! :D
Why is it not a good thing? As I understand it, Laurence/Tharkay is not an unpopular ship in the fandom. XD Though I love that Laurence and Granby are on first name basis, even though -- READ CRUCIBLE OF GOLD, ok?! XD
Re: This is a comment.
Also, the surgeon who gave Janus his nickname in Victory of Eagles has been confirmed by the author as being none other than one Stephen Maturin.
It's always nice to have one's assumptions confirmed. As in: I SPENT MOST OF MY TIME AT WORK FANTASIZING ABOUT STEPHEN AND JACK MEETING LAURENCE AND BEING ALL OVER HIS DRAGON AND HEROIC BULLSHIT AND LOVING HIM AND HAVING AN AWESOME THREESOME.
Anyway: I love that all three of the cootie patooties are on first name basis! I was astonished when I read Tenzing for the first time and wondered how exactly that conversation must have happened (fandom assumes: AWKWARD AS HELL and I love it xD) and ohhh... <333
Okay. Crubicle of Gold shall be my new life-goal!

The Sea: is beautiful! ♥♥♥
