Swim for Brighter Days by [livejournal.com profile] zarah5, a Hawaii 5-0 fanfic

Summary: Danny kisses Steve late on a Tuesday, early on a Wednesday. Steve punches him. (Set vaguely post-finale, so spoilers for that.)

This is one of my favorite H50-fanfics because it has all my favourite tropes - Steve being super nervous and inexperienced, mentioning of Don't Ask Don't Tell, speechlessness *v*, entering the State of Denial at 100mph, Steve being super clueless and Danny being... well Danny - but above all the writing is just that good. It's written in present tense which is not everyone's cup of tea but please give this a chance because the emotions do work in present tense and only in it. When I was reading it I went through all of Steve's emotions with him - the sheer terror, the denial, the panic, the angst, the sense of losing oneself, the racing thoughts, the feverish cry for help bitten back until blood spills over your lower lip and chin, the pitch black despair and the repressed want for his partner. It is beautiful and angsty and wonderful and you should drop everything you are doing and read it right this instant (I'd go as far and say you don't even have to be in this fandom to appreciate the fanfic, it is that good <3).

The Shoebox Project by [livejournal.com profile] ladyjaida and [livejournal.com profile] dorkorific, a Harry Potter fanfic

Everyone who is even remotely into Harry Potter marauders'-era fic in general and Wolfstar-fanfic in particular would already know about The Shoebox Project, the epic story that covers the experiences of James, Sirius, Peter and Remus from their first to last year at Hogwarts and some time after that - but the story cannot be recommended enough.
It' perfect in every aspect, the writing captures every emotion perfectly, the plot itself makes sense and the humor is hilarious and heart breaking at the same time because you know what is going to happen to all of them and that had me tear up at more than one point (Sirius for example sees "veils" in divination class and they joke about it - HOW IS THAT NOT CRUEL). I adore their characterisations, I love the amount of love and great fanart produced for this wonderful work of fiction and I worship them for NOT making Peter stupid but a loveable, round even tragic character all on his own. The story is technically a WIP, but the last chapter itself has all the makings of a freaking tragic ending so you may read it as you wish.

God. Sirius and Remus. Gawd. Stop breaking my heart. Q_Q

The Covering Sky by Rellie, a Game of Thrones fanfic BEWARE OF SPOILERS

First of all, let me admit that I have not the slightest clue about Game of Thrones at all. I've never read the books, I only watched the first season and everything I know about Jaime/Brienne derives from tumblr-spoilers and rei17 (thank you btw for dragging me into yet ANOTHER TRAGIC AND BEAUTIFUL AND DORKY PAIRING). So why would I read a 500000+ words-fanfic about them? BECAUSE THEY ARE PERFECT THAT'S WHY! The fanfic is great, it inspired a ton of fanart.
The characterisation is spot-on, the world-building perfect, the characters are wonderful and the author does not make light of any of their problems, fears, hopes and wishes. IT IS PERFECT, OKAY, LET ME WALLOW IN PAIN ABOUT THEIR PERFECTION AND EVERYTHING. It is a work in progress and full of spoilers for the books and series so read at your own risk - but uhhhh, everything is just so shiny and wonderful and I WANT THEM TO BE HAPPY AND HAVE A BAZILLION CHILDREN TOGETHER, please <333

I like that H-50 fic too, because for once it's not "we've both been secretly gay for each other and now everything is unicorns and raunbows", but features a very pobable reaction from Steve ^^

Sadly, not my fandoms, but I feel your pain with not finishing in time. *g* But... it's simply too hot outside, I can't think and am only good for surfing the internet and staring at pretty pictures and the like.^^

Hehe xD Ja, sie ist definitiv Remus/Sirius-Slash, aber erst in den späteren Kapiteln (wenn die so in ihrem fünften Schuljahr sind ungefähr) und es wird auch der Fokus auf Lilly und James gelegt, aber das eher nur so nebenbei. Ich kann sie nur empfehlen, sie ist toll geschrieben und seeeehr sehr dramatisch <33
