I NEED TO SPOIL THE FREAKING BAD SHIT HELL OUT OF YOU!!!!!
This was beyond everything I could have imagined.
And I loved every bloody second of it because it showed me things I didn't even knew I want.
But first let me get the one thing of my chest that I despised and that was the frigging ending because it a) destroyed everyything they did to establish Irene as a strong female character (btw: making her gay was a good choice but it felt very very off for me because we only ever saw her being attracted to Sherlock and not kissing her girlfriend (whose hair I need. Seriously) grr!) and b) had Mycroft look like an idiot: "I was very thorough this time" he said and so he missed his own friggin' brother doing a massacre in an Arab country? (AND JUST HOW DID IRENE GOT HERSELF INTO THIS MESS? SHE ISN'T SUDDENLY STUPID YOU KNOW!) Or were they just playing a very foul trick with John (which would be incredibly cruel and I would never forgive you for that).
Anyways, I loved everything else and you will now get a list because I am too AOSHAOUSASZT to actually write a coherent text:
1) The incredibly obvious Sherlock/John-love. Apart from the obvious looks and the domesticism, from John mixing up his girlfriends in this Sherlock-manner the most obvious part was Irene's remark, when John said: "I don't know if anyone cares, but I am not gay!" - "I am. And now look at us both."
It was awesome and played so downright normal. Sherlock stealing the ashtray or being able to laugh with John while sitting in the Palace (naked xD) and ohhhhhhh, poor Misses Holmes with this stubborn idiot-child. This was awesome and I like where they go with this. If they make them kiss for any cheap reason I will love them forever.
2) Moriarty's nicknames for the Holmes brothers. OH MY GOD THE VIRGIN. XDDDDD
(I do not ship Jim/Sherlock, I do not ship Jim/Sherlock, I do not ship Jim/Sherlock, I do not ship Jim/Sherlock, I do not ship Jim/Sherlock I do not ship Jim/Sherlock, I do not ship Jim/Sherlock I do not ship Jim/Sherlock, I do not ship Jim/Sherlock I do not ship Jim/Sherlock, I do not ship Jim/Sherlock)
3) Mrs. Hudson being a hostage. Don't get me wrong I almost bit off my fingernails because I was so terrified of friendly Mrs. Hudson being hurt but I always imagined that Sherlock would go berserk if anything was to happen to her because she and John are his family. Hands down on that part. And ohhhhhhhh Mrs. Hudson, you sly brilliant person saving that stupid phone! God damn I love you and I too would have thrown that guy out of the window a couple of times even if he was twice my size (which he probably is xD).
4) That christmas party. John, keep up the good influence and YES A CHARACTER IN A SERIES REMEMBERED SOMETHING HE LEARNED LAST SEASON! DO YOU HEAR ME GLEE?!?!??! DO YOU HEAR ME H5O!??!?
5) Irene Adler. I must say, yes, she is beautiful but I am in no way attracted to her which is rare ;D because I love the intelligent characters the most usually... I don't know something about her felt not right (oh my God, I can feel Sherlock bashing my head in for that remark xD). Or maybe I just hate how she gets the better of Sherlock. Maybe. But honestly, how was Sherlock fooled by the dead body? (Oh and I have to admit that I really don't know how he got the code for the safe? I though those numbers WERE her measurements? They were, weren't they? o.O I am so confused xD) Seriously... he knows better than that.
6) Oh the ranting got away with me. XD But yes, I liked Irene, it was great to have her around but oh well. Hopefully someone has mercy on John and tells him that he doesn't have to lie tho Sherlock anymore concerning Irene Adler's current state of dead or undead or not dead yet or whatever. -..-
7) The opening full with allusions to canon. (THE GEEK INTERPRETER??? SERIOULSY? XDDD OH MY GOD!) How many puns can you cram in to five minutes? You won every award, just with that seriously. I love you forever, show.
8) The best and awesomesauciliest part was how they resolved the situation at the beginning in the swimming pool. I usually love my heroes brave and with lots of explosions but this was... it was the best because no one expected it to go down this way and so... thanks TV. For suprising me. <3333333

*lesigh*

Point 1: TOTAL AGREEMENT. Especially with Irene's observation about her and John and their thing for Sherlock - his face! Like '...oh dear. You're... right. Damn.'
Point 2: Actually, after that, I was totally convinced that Mycroft/Moriarty was a Thing. A very over thing, but a thing that had happened. Their texting! And Mycroft's - okay, everything about Mycroft in this episode made me sort of stupidly happy. His insistence that he doesn't care being obviously false, being smart and fucking up, being able to control everyone in the room but his little brother, because it's the people you're closest to that are the hardest to really understand. (I'm confused by the end sequence - he missed a massacre, he knows perfectly well what happened and is fucking with Sherlock and John, Sherlock is imagining this, Irene imagined that in her final moments...)
Point 3: Mrs Hudson is badass. Enough said.
Point 4: That Christmas party. Oh, Sherlock. You are a horrible person sometimes. I was interested to see Lestrade checking out Molly, though. (For all I ship Mycroft/Lestrade from a character balance POV, and even if they haven't met on screen they've totally met because Lestrade's been babysitting Sherlock...)
Point 5: I get what you mean about Irene - she was a bit off. I can read it as her being thrown a bit off kilter by meeting someone who is her intellectual equal (and they tried so very hard to set them up as equals in so many ways). Ah - code for the safe. The numbers WERE her measurements. He's much better at judging size than I am, apparently. I can never choose the correct storage container. ANYWAY. I quite liked her, generally, and by the end I wanted her to stay around and banter with Sherlock and play yenta for Sherlock and John. Yes.
Point 6: Seriously. It was like Inception with Irene's life or death nonsense.
Point 7: !!!
Point 8: Moriarty's ringtone. I just - blinking. So much blinking. And it could have been a terrible cop-out, but it wasn't! Instead, it was amazing! I am very impressed with both their ability to surprise me and also their ability to take what could have been very stupid and make it actually work.
In other news, my mother, her boyfriend, and my brother recently got into Sherlock. They will want to watch the new episode.
I am not sure I can watch a television show with my mother in which there is a dominatrix and that much nudity. I quite enjoyed it, but she would make so many horrified faces!

1)YES THE FACE PART!!!! And the whole "I am a soldier I kill people!" - "You are a doctor!" - "I've had bad days!" dialogue and ohhhhhh the cheekbones and crying Priest!Sherlock and ohhhh.
2)Oh God, I loved Mycroft in this one! And YES Jim would totally try to seduce both brothers. God, the way they always came back to Sherlock being uncomfortable with sex or being a virgin or Mycroft's smile during that Palace scene because he just knows that Sherlock isn't that experienced with sex. Ohhh, John, you have to change that for sure. YOU JUST HAVE TO.
4) Poor Lestrade. One of the brothers defies him in every possible way in his job and the other one chases after him because he wants him to keep the defiant brother in line.
"Make Sherlock behave or I'll be sexting you in every possible situation and then some more beginning tomorrow."
"But I cannot make him behave!"
"Good, then the sexting will begin just know."
"D="
What was I talking about again? XD Oh yeah, Molly/Lestrade would be awesome! I just want Molly to be happy, really. ;_; Her sad crush on Sherlock and being used by Moriarty... ;_______;
5)and they tried so very hard to set them up as equals in so many ways
Yeah, that was also a bit... offputting I think. I mean she isn't a supergenius in the canon, is she? She is better than Sherlock because she is a woman and thinks like one and Sherlock can't get behind that mystery (in a good not-mysogynist way xD). And oh well, yes, I will have to watch it again. ^^
Ah okay. I had some problems understanding the dialogue in that scene. I thought she had told Watson: "Do you want to know the real code for the safe (the one without the shooting a pistol)?" Watson: "Uhh..." Irene: "My measurements."
Ah oh god, what, I am even more confused now. XD
6) Yeah,

I'm not really angry about what they did at the end, that Irene actually is attracted to Sherlock. I think they just didn't want to let her win everything. Or as I tried to explain over at my LJ, although I'm not sure I managed it: It perhaps was a pride thing. I think the attraction is more intellectual than sexual, although Irene seems to be also interested in Sherlock _like that_. The problem was likely that they brought Jim into this. *sigh*
1) Aside from the obvious S/J love and that awesome scene with irene and John - it seems also to confirm that Mummy is dead. That actually Sherlock and Mycrodt only have each other. I felt so for Mycrodt in that Christmas scene.
2) I don't ship Jim/Sherlock. *shrugs* I don't even have to talk me into not shipping them, because in this series? I'm very exclusive with my pairing. *g*
3) Yes! This was so great and stressed so perfectly how much Sherlock cares for her. Also, Mrs. H being frightened but still being all badass and actually taking the phone with her. England would be lost, indeed!
4) What are you refering to here? What did he learn? I'm probably just dense right now, it's late and I couldn't sleep yesterday after watching the episode... deal with me.
8) The opening was FTW, seriously! The Speckled Blonde, Hat-man and Robin... XDD
9)Wasn't it?! That was such a surprise and I loved it! So wonderfully un-dramatic. I loved Jim in this ep, period. He's just so fucking creepy!

Nah, I really really don't like it.
It would have been much better IMHO if Sherlock had deduced "Ah, you are in love with me! *types Sher into the phone" and Irene is shocked but then smiles wickedly: "Oh and here I was thinking you would never suspect that special passcode because matters of the heart are so far from you." By this they would have kept true to the books a bit more because Irene was never in love with him there.
Eh, but who cares the episode was awesome nonetheless. XDD
1) Or maybe Mummy is an old hag no one even wants to visit? I am not sure what's better. XDDD
2)Yeah, I know what you mean, but they have this incredible powerplay going on and John is just too nice to tick Sherlock off in this kind of way (the "you-are-uncomfortable-with-sex-so-I-decided-to-bring-the-whips-to-our-first-date-and-now-get-naked-virgin!-way) xDDDd
3) We should take Mrs. Hudson for a beer down at the docks. We would be safe in her presence and every sailor would bow down because she is just so badass!
4) I was referring to the fact that Sherlock learned not to toy with people's feelings, that's why he apologized to Molly for his cruel words. I think that was the lesson he learned in "The Great Game", when he saw John standing there with the explosives around his body and suddenly had to consider his own feelings and stuff. I'm tired too I cannot elaborate on that.
So much for that, omg, all the comments I have written for this episode. XDDD

2) I can see that appeal, but it doesn't work for me.^^
4) Yes, I guessed that you meant how he behaved towards Molly, because that was just a very uncomfortable moment. I also really liked that he showed quite often (for him) that he does care, we know that he likes Mrs. Hudson, but this time it becomes clear that she means very much to him; also owkring so much faster when Johns life is in danger, and the thing with Molly, which is the biggest proof IMO, because he always treated her quite unkindly before. He is learning. hes still an asshole, though. *g*
