you already know that my life will come to a crashing halt for the next two months or so as we finally got around to order "Watch Dogs" AND "Assassin's Creed Unity" for the PS4. (It was an insanely good offer, like 20 bucks for each game and it arrived not even two days after placing the order, wow o.o).

We started with AC Unity today since I was home first and just installed that first. xD

Yes, I remember the controversy surrounding the game and I am still miffed at Ubisoft for pulling that fucking bullshit. There is a reason apart from "We don't own a PS4 yet" for us not spending money on one of the collector editions or at least buying figurines as we usually do (Connor, Ezio, Oldzio and Edward are gravely nodding at the screen from their places on the shelf).

Now we experienced the first few mission with Arno, running through Paris and what can I say?

It looks fantastic. I missed climbing things, falling of things, missing haystacks by a mile, petting dogs, getting stabbed because I am too dumb to fight. I really missed it and the animation is incredible (might have to do with this being a PS4 and of course us now owning a better tv than we did for "Black Flag" for example). There are some updates to the HUD which I really enjoy, making the whole climbing/stabbing/stealing/falling to your death-experience even smoother and Paris is just... damn guys, I climbed Notre-Dame! I don't even like Notre-Dame (or Paris xD) and I still felt ecstatic! It's incredible and if I didn't tell myself STERNLY to fucking put down the controler RIGHT NOW so I won't finish the entire game in like two days, I would still be running through the crowded, burning streets while people are screaming "Revolution!" in French (Which is called "révolution", for anyone who was wondering).

Well, apart from everything being on fire and very French there is also the storyline which I can't say much about as of yet as I don't even have my hidden blade yet but I have made the acquaintance of Arno, the main character and his step-sister Élise.

I am fully prepared to like Arno. Really. After all, Shay Cormac, the protagonist of "AC Rogue" mollified me after the desaster that was Edward Kenway as a main character (I still hate him. I replayed the game twice and if I could feed him to the sharks and have Adéwale and Mary and Anne be the new captains of the Jackdaw, I would do so in a heartbeat. Bloody wanker).

Now, we have Arno. And Arno is basically Ezio with thicker eyebrows and a French accent. Which is... okay and I really haven't progressed far enough into the game to actually judge him but the first few moments with him were... alright. I think.

He is young and a puppy, a bit dumb, he prances around on the rooftops doing weird flips and kicks, he has a big, dumb mouth and a long, dumb ponytail and he has the hots for his stepsister SO MUCH that his stepfather feels the need to intervene by not even telling him when she is in the city and do you see where this is going, they included a sort of romance in like the first few minutes of the game and there is nothing to kill my enjoyment of things faster than A DUDE MAKING OUT WITH HIS STEPSISTER...

I WILL NEVER BE OVER CONNOR KENWAY.

NEVER.

CONNOR WAS PERFECT AND I WANT A SEQUEL GOD DAMN IT. ;^;

Okay, maybe I don't like Arno after all. But maybe I just have to spend a whole night with him in the catacombs as I did with Connor (and this sounded way less dirty in my head, and yeeeees we get to walk through the catacombs! Exploring the secret passages was my favourite part in AC3). That brings people together, right?
