Hawaii 5-0 2x07 (spoilers but not very important ones)

Uhh, series, what's up with you...

At first, the episode was ok, I think, it was Halloween-themed and made good use of some of the Hawaiian myths (Night Marchers) and such. We even had some carguments of the good old kind ("Dont WOW me!!") and some adorable team moments.
But! And this is an as- huge-as-an-elephant BUT!

Danno is totally OOC.
Like badfic-OOC.

In one scene, he stampeded all over a sacred place (which was a crime scene) and although I wouldn't have minded that too much because he explained he didn't believe in this stuff and emphasized how they needed to secure the evidence. BUT THEN!!!! Then Steve asked the obvious question "What if this sacred Heiau was a church?" and Danny replies: "Yeah, I personally would care but this here is not the same."

EXCUSE ME PLEASE!??!?!? OH MY GOD HOW IMPOSSIBLY RUDE CAN A SINGLE EPISODE BE!? YES WE ARE AWARE THAT DANNO MIGHT NOT LIKE EVERY SINGLE ASPECT OF THE HAWAIIAN CULTURE BUT HE WOULD NEVER EVER MAKE SUCH A DOWNRIGHT RACIST COMMENT!!! NEVER EVER DO YOU HEAR ME?! HE IS THE SENSIBLE AAAAAAND SENSITIVE PART OF THIS TEAM AND HE WOULD OF COURSE RESPECT THEIR TRADITIONS OR AT LEAST HE WOULD SAY THAT THEY ARE AS EQUALLY IMPORTANT AND JUSTIFIED AS CHRISTIANITY.

God damn it.
What angers me the most is that this huge rudeness could have been so easily avoided, as for example when Danno would have said that he didn't believe in Christianity either and that he wouldn't give a f*ck about the church.
Of course, we needed Danno for the comic relief in this episode, that is good and fine with me but then it should not go against everything the character stands for just to get some cheap laughs out of it. >____<

This is lazy writing as its best, really. Wow, H50-team, wow. You are a bunch of assholes for mistreating your characters as such. 

I am now super angry and will start preparing my presentation for tomorrow. BRR!

You know, I was actually going to wait and read your review only after I'd watched the episode, but after the first cargument I couldn't take it any more. The Danny OOC-ness makes me want to puke, seriously.

I shall now have to decide whether I'll even bother watching the episode until the end. I think I'll rather rewatch some "Merlin" scenes, to remind myself what good screenwriting and continuous character development looks like, and how GREAT it feels!

Gosh, how can they screw this up so spectacularly?!?

She called him Danno?!?!?!? O______O I must have totally missed that or I would have gone insane with rage. Oh my gosh, they seriously fucked it up. >______<

This is so bad, I don't know how to cope. ;_; I really really don't want to leave this show because it gave me so much last season but then again: why bother with it at all if they obviously don't care for their characters?
(But next episode I have to watch: Danno's crashing on Steve's couch they cannot ruin that!)

Oh and random: I seriously have a craving for a fanfic, where Steve mysteriously turns back to be 16 or maybe 18 again and Danny can get all Papa-Bear on him and ground him for driving too fast or underage drinking or generall dumbassery! xDDD)

Augh, why do they do this to us? Why? Not only are they having the stupidest and I do mean the stupidest plots in the history of ever, but now they have to make Danny OOC too? Maybe it was just a shit writer like we get sometimes on Doctor Who and who sometimes maybe directed Doctor Who not to name any names and all the rest of the episodes will be better because they kicked this terrible writer off the show for being a jerk. Yes.

I want this to be true soooooo sooooooo much, but the shitty writing and stoooooopid plots are going on for seven episodes till now and I am barely able to cling to my hope for this show but I really really want it to be as good and slashy as it used to be. ;____;

So true, so sad. Danny has been OOC ever since Lori showed up, and this time they just went over the top with it.

Saying that, Steve isn't acting like his old (season 1) self either. :((( The only ones who still feel true are Chin and Kono IMO.

Your reaction pretty much mirrors mine. Well, the other way round, actually, since I read your review and thought "it can't be THAT bad, I have to see this for myself". And then I did just that. And I'm regretting it...oh I'm regretting it, believe me...*sigh*

I will wait for the next three episodes and if it's still shit till then I'll quit and relive season 1 because that's where all the good stuff came from. <333
