My shiny new obsession

nessanielBecause I need a break from writing my term paper (writing one and a half pages is stressful!) I watched "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" while eating the delicious bento pinku made for me (rice, meat, omelett, cookies, cucumber and maybe I should have taken a picture before hand...).
God, I love that series: not only because I am all hyped up for the upcoming Avengers-movie (which I crave so much that it won't be able to fulfill my expectations at all but oh well xD) but also because it is an awesome cartoon show with decent animation and lots of snarky oneliners thrown at each other and ohhhhh it even passed the Bechdel-Test (in the first episode only mind you and we only have one female main character (Wasp) but she kicks ass!!! and I really should stop complaining about how badly women get treated in media we all know it by now jadda jadda).
Anyways, it's awesome because of how well developed the characters are: they take time out of the episoded to show how lonely Steve rogers (Captain America) is, they even give him cheesy music to create the mood and argh I just love everything!
Tony Stark (Iron Man) is one of a kind, really. He is absolutely wonderful and snarky and I love how he always tries to justify himself because he knows what an ass he was in the past and is willing to prove to everyone how he much he changed.
His relationship with Hank (Ant Man and yes I still have to laugh everytime I see him in his costume xD) is especially heartwarming: both of them are scientists though Tony is more of the "shoot first ask questions later and ohhh if you stole any of my tech I will vaporize you!!!1111!" type of a guy and Hank is always the therapist: "Let's talk about your childhood problems, psychotic villain of the week trying to take over the world or Manhattan, y/y?"
It's awesome. For example:
Hank: So, Tony, if you fly in there and take out the sound vibrator it might... tingle. A lot.
Tony: Okay. *flies in* THAT'S NOT A TINGLE THAT'S HORRIBLE PAIN!!!!!
xDDDDD Oh my God I love stuff like this, really. xD
Thor is also portrayed nicely (apart from the fact this his hair looks like golden tinsel), he is not superstupid but delightfully clueless about modern technology. I can't say that much about him because there was only one episode focussing on him so far but he is a really good character. Bruce Banner (The Hulk) also has his moments: he is the strongest of all (at least it seems so) but also the most insecure and the Jekyll/Hide-moments when the Hulk talks with mirror!Bruce are pretty deep for a children's tv-show.
So yeah, I will waste more time on this cartoon than on my termpaper but that's hardly a surprise. ;D

Und selbst sie sehe ich eigentlich fast noch lieber so unglaublich eindeutig und unfähig umeinander herumtanzen. Aber ich steh auch einfach auf unrequieted love und Leute die zu blöd für ihre eigenen Gefühle sind.^^

Der neuste ist der mit den Islamisten, oder? - Es tat so schön weh. Uwe bricht mir irgendwann das Herz, vielleicht sollte ich gar nicht versuchen auch noch alle älteren zu sehen.
Und zu Herrn Schweiger sage ich gar nichts. Weil ARGHHHH! WARUUUUUM???
Thor und Tony und ihr "Human science..." und "Magic...". Hach ja. :)
Und die Fantastic Four-Auftritte sind unglaublich toll. Und mein innerer Chris Evans-Fan hat ein paar Saltos an der "You owe me one"-Szene geschlagen. *hust*

Fangirle ich dich eine Runde! Du kriegst den Vortrag hin! Locker! Schließlich hast du ja auch das Stipendium gekriegt, weil du genial bist! =D

Ich muss ja zugeben, dass ich eine absolute Schwäche für First-Time-Stories habe, weil es so süßlich schmerzhaft ist, den Partnern bei ihren miesen Annäherungsversuchen zuzuschauen. WARUM NICHT?! - Ja, alle Avengers in allen Kombinationen und immer. *lol* ...Obwohl das alle Kombinationen nicht wirklich ship-technisch gemeint ist, aber egaaaal. ;)

"Oh, Fran's already here! Would you get me the usual?" Steph didn't even wait for a response, just smiled her thanks and sauntered over to the small table where Hawkeye was waiting and sucking some Iced Abomination through a purple! straw. Toni didn't even try to mind. She'd long ago admitted defeat to Stephs very own mixture of model looks (a very tall, very muscular model, but model never the less), girl next door-charm and the charisma of a born leader. - Not that Toni would ever say that out loud.
Shrugging she turned and faced the goddess. "So what can I bring you, Thora?"
Puzzled, Thora raised her eyebrows. "Coffee?"
"Yeah, big girl, that's what we all want."
Apparently that confused the goddess even more and Toni couldn't help but grin just that tat bit sadistically. "You have to choose", she said, pointing to the menu on the wall. Than she stepped up to the counter. "An espresso. And a Caramel Frappuccino whith extra whipped cream and a Double Choclate Muffin." The barista just stared at her. "Yeah, I think it's disgusting, too. But we don't have a superhuman metabolism like my friend over there so we'll just have to watch. Actually, make that two espressos in a bigger cup." The girl continued to stare, a little confused now. Toni raised an eyebrow. "Please, do take your time."
"You... you're Natasha Stark!"
"I know, it's amazing, isn't it?" She was barely legal, no point in taking the nice route. Also, Toni really needed that coffee. She took a glance over her shoulder. "Found something, big girl?"
Thora just stared at the menu. "What is this language? I seem to recognise certain words but the rest is utter gibberish. Why don't I understand this?"
"That's because most of it aren't even words." The barista had finally finished their drinks, collected Toni's money like it was the Holy grail or something and now turned to Thora with a lot less awe-struck expression. Because Nordish goddesses in full armour were an everyday sight in this Starbucks, Toni supposed.

"A normal one."
"Which one?"
Toni smirked. And quickly surpressed the tingling sense of guilt about not bringing Cap her sugar fix. Or helping Thora. But she was a Goddess she should be fine. And Toni just had to watch her trying to stare the barista into cooperation. For purely scientific purposes.
"A liquid, black one in a tiny white cup", Thora explained like speaking to child. The barista was not impressed.
"We don't serve those. Choose one of them." She pointed at the menu over her head.
"But there is no coffee."
"Yes, there is."
Thora used her hammer to point at the menu. "It doesn't say anything about coffee."
"Look, you've got to make up your mind or leave." By now everyone in the small shop was staring at them.
"I made up my mind. I want a coffee."
"So chose one! What are you? Stupid?" And that was probably the thing she shouldn't have said. As much as Thora loved the mortals, she really hadn't patience for insults. She slammed Myöllnir on the counter and glass shattered. Cap's shield blocked the barista from splinters and suddenly Frances was standing on her table, bow in hand, ready to kill anyone who made a sudden move. Toni shrugged.
Thora dropped her head. "Sorry, mortal, I'd just really like to drink a coffee with my friends."
The barista was pale as the wall behind her, shooting frantic looks between Steph who was standing next to her, holding her beloved shield and smiling reassuringly, Toni, who balanced the tray and tried not to laugh, and Thora. When Thora tried one of her well-meaning-but-actually-kinda-terrifing smiles she nodded frantically. "No problem! No problem at all."
Seconds later she handed Thora a cup of freshly brewed coffee over the remainders of the counter.
Visibly satisfied, Thora followed Steph and Toni to their table. "You mortals have some very strange customs", she declared and Toni just had to press a quick kiss on her cheek.
"You, my friend, are probably the first person ever to get a regular coffee at a Starbucks", she smirked.
